    Ohio Teen Class D Online Driver Education Requirements

    • 24-Hour Online Instruction – fully State-Approved / BMV-Approved, completed entirely online at your own pace. The course includes Module Quizzes and a Final Exam (50 multiple-choice questions, 75% passing score) that must be passed to receive your Certificate of Completion.
    • Certificate of Completion – issued within 3 business days after passing the Final Exam; required before scheduling behind-the-wheel training.
    • 8-Hour Behind-the-Wheel Training – arranged separately with a licensed instructor in Ohio.
    • 50-Hour Driving Practice – including at least 10 hours at night, supervised by a licensed driver age 21 or older.
    • BMV 5791 Fifty-Hour Affidavit – completed and notarized to verify your practice hours.

    Completing these steps ensures you meet all Ohio Class D requirements and are ready for your driving test.
