Payment FAQ
There are 2 ways to pay: PayPal or by check
PayPal: Please note that you do not need a PayPal account. Once you click on the PayPal button simply select “Pay with a credit or Visa debit card” and enter the appropriate information in the required fields. Once completed, click “Pay Now”.
Check: Please note that by choosing this option, you must still mail a check to the address found when clicking on “Pay by check”. The purpose of entering your banking information is to be able to link the payment with the corresponding online account, once the check is received. An account will not be activated until payment is received.

In addition, the applicant’s parent or guardian must present identification (driver license or ID card) to co-sign for the TIPIC.
Click HERE for more information about acceptable documents.
Test Failure
Applicants who fail the knowledge test must wait at least 24 hours before retesting. There is no limit on how many times the knowledge test can be taken.

COMPLETING THE COURSE:
You must complete all 10 modules (quizzes and tests included), as well as the final exam. The minimum amount of time you can complete the course in is 24 hours. If a student has reached the 24-hour time limit but has not completed the course, a completion certificate will NOT be issued.
Registration FAQ
AFFIDAVITS:
As per Ohio DPS regulation, we must validate your parent/legal guardian’s identity prior to you being able to access the course material.
Since our 3rd party validation was unable to collect information to validate the ID, we must ask you to download an affidavit. Once your parent/legal guardian has completed the affidavit, it must get notarized (can be done through a bank) and uploaded back to your online profile.
We apologize for this extra step. However, Costech is simply enforcing the regulations set in place by the State.
Certificate FAQ
CERTIFICATE PROCESS:
NOTE: It is important to keep both certificates that you will be receiving
As per State regulation, the only way that a student can receive his/her Driver Education certificate(s) is through US mail. Certificates cannot be sent through e-mail or any other way.
A student will receive two (2) certificates: an enrollment certificate and a completion certificate.
ENROLLMENT CERTIFICATE
- The enrollment certificate is mailed out once two hours of the course have been completed. This certificate allows you to start the behind-the-wheel portion of the course and enroll in a driver training program at an approved driving school.
- The certificate can take between 7-10 business days to receive through regular mail. Expedited service is available (fees are applicable); however, you must either send an e-mail to “support@costech.com” or call 888-385-3272.
COMPLETION CERTIFICATE
- The completion certificate is mailed out once the online Driver Education course is completed (all modules + final exam). This certificate allows you to apply for an Ohio Driver’s License.
- The certificate can take between 7-10 business days to receive through regular mail. Expedited service is available (35$ for 2 business day delivery); which can be purchased at the end of the course, directly on your online student account.
DUPLICATE CERTIFICATES:
Should a student lose his/her certificate(s) or provide inaccurate information (incorrect address, name, date of birth, etc), a specific process is to be followed before a DUPLICATE certificate can be issued. The student is required to fill-out and sign the Request for a Duplicate Certificate (see below). This form must then be completed and sent to dfoster@costech.com. Depending on certain restrictions, fees may apply.
FEES:
There are 2 main reasons as to why a student would request a duplicate:
- A student has not received the original copy of a certificate, despite all of the information being correct. In this case, a student must wait a minimum of 12 days before being able to request a duplicate. If after 12 days a student has still not received the certificate, a duplicate may be issued through regular mail. A student has 20 days (from the day the original certificate is sent), to request a duplicate free of charge. After 20 days, there is a 15$ fee applicable.
- A student provided incorrect information. In this case a student can request a duplicate at any time. A student has 20 days (from the day the original certificate is sent), to request a duplicate free of charge. After 20 days, there is a 15$ fee applicable.
All duplicates are sent through regular mail (7-10 business days). Should a student wish to receive the duplicate sooner, expedited shipping (2 business days) is available for 35$.
