When Do You Need To Take This Course?

2-Point Credit

If you currently have 2 to 11 points on your driving record, you may take this course to receive a 2-point credit. This credit allows you to accumulate up to 14 points before facing a license suspension.

Court-Ordered

If you are completing this course because it was ordered by a court, you will not receive the 2-point credit. You are responsible for Providing certificate to court.

Juvenile Suspension

This applies if you are 19 years or older and are required to complete the course due to a juvenile suspension that occurred before age 18.

OVI / OVUAC Suspension

This applies if your license was suspended because you were under age 21 and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

12-Point Suspension

If your license was suspended for accumulating 12 or more points, this course may be required as part of the process to retain or reinstate your driving privileges.

 When do you need to take this course? The course is taken for one of the following reasons:

2-Point Credit: If you currently have 2 to 11 points on your driving record, you may take this course to receive a 2-point credit. This credit allows you to accumulate up to 14 points before facing a license suspension. The credit is valid for 3 years and may be used up to 5 times in your lifetime.
 
Court-Ordered (No Point Credit): If you are completing this course because it was ordered by a court, you will not receive the 2-point credit.
 
Juvenile Suspension (Age 19+): This applies if you are 19 years or older and are required to complete the course due to a juvenile suspension that occurred before age 18.
 
OVI / OVUAC Suspension (Under 21 Alcohol-Related Offense): This applies if your license was suspended because you were under age 21 and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Upon successful completion of the course, your completion record will be electronically reported to the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles, and your official digital Certificate of Completion will be emailed to you once processed. It is your responsibility to confirm with the court, BMV, or any other requesting agency that this State-Approved Ohio Adult Remedial Course meets the specific requirement you are completing.
